Dr. Dinu Shibu Mathew stands as a distinguished psychotherapist, counselor, and academic leader in Mumbai, with over two decades of dedicated service in mental health, social work, and capacity building across educational, corporate, NGO, and governmental sectors.


Academic Excellence

Dr. Dinu Shibu Mathew holds an MSc in Psychotherapy and Counselling, a Diploma in Career Counselling, a Master’s in Social Work from the College of Social Work Nirmala Niketan, and a Doctorate in Counseling from Canterbury University, United Kingdom. As a dissertation guide associated with the University of Chicago, USA, she has mentored advanced research in counseling and psychotherapy. Additionally, she serves as academic faculty for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, contributing to the Master’s program in Counseling and Family Therapy.


Professional Leadership

She founded Therapeutic Dwelling, while operating three counseling clinics in Mumbai to provide accessible mental health support. Dr. Mathew also supervises counseling internships at prestigious institutions including Amity University Panvel, Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work, College of Home Science Mumbai, and Symbiosis College Pune. Her hands-on counseling extends to two schools in Mira Road and an international NGOs in Mumbai.


Training and Faculty Roles

Recognized as a National Trainer for the Ministry of Health, New Delhi, specializing in Micro Counseling and HIV/AIDS counseling under projects like the Global Fund for AIDS, she has delivered technical support across South Asia. As visiting faculty at Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work, she imparts expertise in counseling and psychotherapy. Dr. Mathew works as a training consultant for schools, colleges, corporates, NGOs, and churches in Mumbai, customizing programs on soft skills, stress management, conflict resolution, intra- and inter-personal communication, and socio-emotional learning (SEL).

Simi Susan Shibu is a dedicated mental health professional based in Mumbai with over three years of experience in clinical psychology, arts-based therapy, and research. Her CV highlights a strong academic foundation and hands-on roles in counseling, teaching, and NGO work focused on child development and trauma care.

Professional Background

She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Elphinstone College, Field Supervisor at St Xavier's College and Consultant Psychologist at Suryoday Trust. She was previously an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Sophia College (SNJP) from May 2022 to April 2025, teaching BA Psychology courses and contributing to staff welfare committees. Additional roles include Co-Founder and Arts-Based Therapy Practitioner (since April, present), Consultant Psychologist in Mumbai (Aug 2021–March 2023) where she developed treatment plans and ensured care standards, and Practising Intern at Saifee Hospital (Jan 2020–2025) assisting in patient histories and counseling.

Simi holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Arts-Based Therapy (PGDABT) from Nanavati College (March 2021–April 2024), a Master’s in Arts (Clinical Psychology, focusing on children) from SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai (2019–2021) with a thesis on psychological well-being pre-disclosure, and a Bachelor’s in Arts Psychology (2016–2019) where she earned top research ranks.
